Dangerous foot fetish sex offender jailed for 6 years for attack outside police station
David Bennett was also given a lifetime ban from approaching lone females and touching their feet or legs
A dangerous sex offender with a foot fetish has been jailed for 6 years after attacking a mother outside a police station.
David Bennett, 31, was also banned from touching the legs of girls and women for the rest of his life after he rubbed himself against a mother’s feet outside a police station.
The victim was waiting outside the police station when he approached her.
The 31-year-old, who had a knife hidden in his waistband, removed her shoe and started kissing her toes and committing a sex act.
He kept assaulting her even though he was bleeding heavily from self-inflicted lacerations at the same time.
Bennett, a convicted paedophile, was revealed as having a longstanding sexual fetish for women’s feet and legs during his five-day trial at Liverpool Crown Court.
In sentencing him to six years in jail, Recorder David Turner, QC described him as “a very frightening and unpredictable young man”.
He added: “It was a frightening and degrading experience for the woman who was alone at night.
“It was a serious attack on her character and it reveals the sort of man you are, the sort of danger you represent.”
The sex offender, from Skelmersdale, has past convictions from indecent assaults against children under 14 involving similar foot fetish behaviour.
The jury, which found him guilty, gasped when they were told of his previous crimes.
A probation report described his actions as “intentional and calculated, seeking risk taking behaviour to fulfil his sexual needs”.
A Sexual Prevention Order was imposed banning him from approaching lone females and touching their feet or legs.
Bennett must also sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life and was given a restraining order to keep away from the victim.[fblike]
